THE ETERNAL SNOW OF THE INCAS

PRINCIPAL ATTRACTIONS 

THE REGIONAL MUSEUM 
Has a valuable collection of Ceramic and rock statues (monoliths) of the old cultures of the region. Also has a model of the Chavin Temple.

MIRADOR DE RATAQUENUA
Its a hill located at the east part of the city, where you can see al the panorama of Huaraz and mountains down the valley of the Callejon de Huaylas. 

SURROUNDINGS TO THE CITY

WILCAHUAIN
Archeological sight located at 7 kms. north of Huaraz, presenting lithic constructions of 4 platforms one over another that look like a shaped pyramid. 

COLLAHUASI
A Mirador (look-out tower), where you can have a total view from North to South, of the Cordillera Blanca.

CHURUP
A very popular day hike, to this close by lake, of blue turquoise color, that lays bellow the Churup peak. Good for acclimatization.

LLANGANUCO LAKES
In this magical canyon there are two beautiful lakes called Chinancocha and Orconcocha (3,850 mts. above sea level). These can be reached after an fascinating two hour ride which is full of charming views that nature provides in all her glory throughout the Black and White Mountain range which form the Huaylas Valley with its many historic and picturesque villages.

CHAVIN DE HUANTAR
Way in the rugged zone of the Conchucos Valley and just a few hours from Huaraz, a date with history awaits you. From the stone labyrinths arose this magical and super natural legends, the cultural currents of our amazing past which inspired the works of art and the monumental structures of colossal architecture which will astonish us after more than 3,000 years since it was made this grandiose testimony of our Peruvian roots which is the pride of our ancestors.
