GENERAL INFORMATION

LOCATION
North of Lima, in the middle of the Callejón de Huaylas (Cordillera Blanca). Capital of the Department of Ancash. 

ALTITUDE
The city of Huaraz is at 3,052 meter above sea level.

POPULATION
It has a population of 120,000 inhabitants.

CLIMATE
From May to November, days are sunny, nights are cold. Rainfall is abundant from December to April.

ACCESS / APPROACH
By Land:
The North Pan-American Highway permits the access from Pativilca, through a highway which is totally paved that goes up the Fortaleza valley to the Conococha Pass, entering the Callejón de Huaylas, heading North in this Corridor, arriving to Huaraz. The trip on bus takes aprox. 8 hours. Daily departures.
By Air: 
Flights every day in the High season; and 3 times a week in Low season.
